Musical Director Vacancy - City of Newport Male Choir
Due to relocation, City of Newport Male Choir are looking to appoint a new Musical director from March 2026 (maybe sooner). We are a small active choir with 32 members and are looking to move forward. Our repertoire is varied from traditional to relatively modern and working towards some massed choir events.
We are looking for a forward-thinking director to push the choir to the next level and help spread the message we strive for “Making Music, Making Friends”. Leading from the front we will be looking for inspiration, motivation and musicality. We offer a good rate of remuneration and additional income for events we do outside of the weekly rehearsal. Our normal practice nights are Monday and Thursday evenings form 7.30 to 9pm. We get bookings for conferences, weddings and funerals which if free we would like you to attend but understand if outside commitments stop you from doing this. We have an annual concert and support many charities by performing to raise money. We look to have a choir tour every two to three years and your input will be important. You will have an annual budget to spend on new music but would also like you to work on new arrangements. We would require you to take a rehearsal prior to appointment.

Musical Director Vacancy - Bois Goetre-Hen Male Choir
Bois Goetre-Hen Male Choir (BGN) is on the hunt for a talented Musical Director (MD) to lead us into an exciting new chapter. This is the ideal opporunity for you to ‘stamp your own mark’ on the choir. If you are passionate about music, love working with a dedicated group of singers, and are ready to help shape our future, we would love to hear from you.
BGH is one of the South Wales’ leading Male Choirs and has recently celebrated its 15th Anniversary. We are currently a Choir of some 40 members who rehearse twice weekly for 90 minutes in Tondu Cricket Club, Bryn Road, Tondu CF32 9EB.
We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate an appreciation of the traditions of Male Choirs as well as have the innovation and ability to inspire our Choir to sing more contemporary songs alongside the full range of male choral music, building upon the Choir’s established reputation.
The MD is a freelance position and remuneration is negotiable, paid monthly, with additional fees for performances. Shortlisted candiades will be interviewed during Choir rehearsals throughout February 2026. Ideally the new MD will be available to start immediately.
